Hundreds of student filmmakers were honored Wednesday night at the Hawaii Convention Center.
It was all part of the 2011 HMSA Teen Video Awards.
Our morning news anchor Olena Heu was a judge and presenter at the awards program.
"Best of Show" honors went to Moanalua High School for their video "Veggie Standoff."
The theme for this years contest was "Your choices today impact tomorrow."
"It’s really great for us as kids in high school especially that HMSA gives us this chance to maybe even put it on TV so that we can get our message out to kids like us," said Korie Lum, a Moanalua High School sophomore.
KHON2 will air a half hour special on the awards presentation on Wednesday, May 25 starting at 9 o’clock.
It follows the season finale of American Idol and is hosted by our Rob DeMello.
