The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the north and west-facing shores of Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, Molokai, and for the north-facing shores of Maui.
The advisory goes into effect at noon Monday.
Forecasters say a long-period north, northwest swell will continue to build Monday.
Surf is expected between 12 to 18 feet along north and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau, and along the north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, and Maui.
Surf is also expected between eight to 12 feet along west-facing shores of Oahu and Molokai.
Beach goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by Ocean Safety officials and exercise caution.
The advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
