Surfer nearly drowns at Sandy Beach

A man in his 30s is in critical condition after nearly drowning at Sandy Beach.

According to Emergency Medical Services, the incident happened at about 4 p.m. Sunday when a snorkeler near the Full Point surf spot noticed a surfer in trouble.

Lifeguards pulled the surfer out of the water and performed CPR.

Paramedics arrived to the scene and transported the man to the hospital.
