Honolulu police captured a University of Hawaii student who kept the Manoa campus on edge.
Police and UH security have been searching for the 20-year-old man after learning he was possibly armed.
Hours later, they caught him in the Diamond Head area.
The situation here on campus has returned to normal.
It all started around noon when UH issued a campus-wide message via email and text alerting people about the situation.
The message said he was distraught and possibly armed.
Police say the student got into an argument with his girlfriend.
He was seen in different areas on campus, including the Manoa Stream behind East-West Center and the School of Hawaiian Knowledge.
Police captured the student after 3 p.m. in the Diamond Head area.
They say he did not resist arrest.
Police have not yet found a weapon and have not yet charged him.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center where he’s being evaluated.
