Suspicious item removed from Waikiki area

UPDATE: Authorities removed a suspicious item in the Waikiki area around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Honolulu police are currently investigating the report of a suspicious item in this area of Waikiki.

It is located at the three-way intersection of Ala Wai, Kalakaua and McCully.

The area is closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
