It appears thieves were thwarted by an ATM in Kapaa, Kauai Friday morning when the machine caught on fire.
It happened at 2:17 a.m. at the Kauai Products Fair.
According to police, the ATM appeared to have been cut out with a torch. When officers arrived on scene, the ATM was on fire.
A witness said two unidentified males left the area in a vehicle.
An investigation is currently underway.
