TRAFFIC ALERT: Overnight repairs on Airport Viaduct, ZipperLane

Three left lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct in the westbound direction overnight while Department of Transportation crews work to repair potholes.

The lanes will be closed from 5 p.m. Sunday, January 8 to 3 a.m. Monday morning.  They will be closed from the Keehi Interchange to the Hickam AFB/Naval Base Off-Ramp. All on-ramps and off-ramps in the area will remain open.

According to the DOT, a single lane may be closed on Nimitz Highway in the westbound direction to provide a safety zone for work overhead.  This closure is slated to be from Middle Street to Valkenburgh Street.

The ZipperLane will be deployed from 4 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for barrier repairs.

The ZipperLane will be open at its normal hours from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday morning and will be operating normally for the rest of the week.

The DOT advises motorists to use caution when driving through these work areas and to allow extra travel time.
