Two Magnitude 7.0+ Quakes Strike Near Vanuatu

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, two separate quakes struck off Port Vila on the island of Efate, Vanuatu Saturday morning. Both quakes registered above 7.0 on the Richter scale, but only one generated a “very small wave” that did not cause major damage on Vanuatu. No tsunami threat exists for Hawaii.
