Two women are fighting for their lives following an early morning crash on Honoapiilani Highway on Maui.
It happened at about 12:45 a.m. near Napilihau Road.
According to Maui police, 28-year-old Lahaina woman was driving north on Honoapiilani Highway when she crossed over the centerlineand collided head on into another car.
The 28-year-old woman was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the other car, a 20-year-old woman, was also taken to the same hospital in critical condition.
Police say speed and drugs are suspected as contributing factors in the crash. However, police say that these factors, along with the use of alcohol, are still under investigation.
