UH Manoa Chancellor in Sendai to mark anniversary of deadly disasters

UH Manoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw is in Sendai, Japan.
She’s attending a meeting at Tohoku University to mark the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.

"Much of Japan has done a wonderful job and recovered but there is still much to do. Particularly with the human and social recovery," she says.

Other school officials from across the globe are also in Sendai.
Hinshaw was at Narita Airport last year, when the earthquake happened.
