The decision to replace Jim Donovan as UH Athletics Director was made even before the Stevie Wonder concert fiasco.
That’s according to UH President MRC Greenwood.
In a letter to students, Greenwood says campus officials started searching for a new AD ahead of learning that the school had been scammed.
She says two separate issues collided and became entangled in the public’s perceptions.
Donovan was placed on paid leave while the university investigated the botched concert.
UH officials later cleared Donovan of any wrongdoing announcing that he would return to the Manoa campus in a new capacity, without saying exactly what that is.
Wednesday campus officials are releasing the results of an internal investigation to the UH Board of Regents.
