A pedestrian that was struck by a car last week has died.
The accident happened on May 6, just after midnight on Hana Highway in Kahului.
Police say the 27 year-old man, identified as Stephen Frey of Wailuku, was walking north bound along the highway when a car heading in the same direction hit him.
The driver was not hurt, but Frey was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.
Police say speed, drugs and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
