Marine biologists at the Waikiki Aquarium tell us they believe they’re 7-11 crabs, which are actually common in Hawaiian waters.
But they still have to wait until these purple pea-size crabs get bigger to know for sure what they are.
On Saturday, all biologists knew was that they’re some kind of crab in the larva stage.
They’ve shown up by the millions from Kahala to Ala Moana over the past week.
