The 6-inch main, originally installed in 1941, broke Sunday afternoon.
During the repair, the break had left Kamamalu Neighborhood Park with no water and had closed down a short length of both makai-bound lanes on Queen Emma Street between School Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

Board of Water Supply crews are working on repairing a six inch water main break on
Queen Emma Street.
The break occurred just after 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Board of Water Supply officials say only the bathroom at Kamamalu Neighborhood Park has no water and residents in the area have not been affected.
They say crews closed two lanes in the makai direction on Queen Emma Street and are contraflowing one lane in the mauka bound direction as they work to repair the break.
Officials say crews will work through the night.
