The victim of an unprovoked pick axe attack has forgiven his attacker.
Alvan "Kelii" Kalau almost killed Richard Silva when he attacked him in the early morning hours of May 2010 in Silva’s house in Papakolea.
Silva forgave Kalau and agreed to lessen his sentence from life in prison to a 20 year prison term.
"But I feel that you don’t do sick things to sick people. And I don’t think in the years that I have grown up with Kelii as being a person who would really do this to me intentionally,” said Silva.
Kalau apologized to his victim and asked for forgiveness.
Silva is hoping his family can move on from the terrifying attack.
