The east Kuhio swim basin area in Waikiki will close at 6 p.m. Monday until the end of March for a sand restoration project that will widen the beach.
The area next to the basin, near the Banyan Tree Hotel, will close tomorrow to January 12.
Lifeguard services in the effected areas will not be available.
