Water conservation requested for Hanapepe, Eleele and Kalaheo

The Department of Water is asking customers in Hanapēpē, Eleele and Kalaheo to conserve water due to a power failure that occurred last night, which affected source wells in the Hanapēpē valley.

DOW crews are working to make necessary repairs.  While the work is being done, customers in the affected and surrounding areas are urged to conserve water and restrict water consumption to essential uses. These measures may prevent the depletion of the limited water supply.

Essential needs include: cooking; bathing; and toilet flushing.

Residents are asked to notify their family, friends, and neighbors that will be affected by the conservation request.

The Department of Water apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks affected customers for their patience and cooperation. For more information, please call the Department of Water at 245-5461 during business hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For emergencies after business hours, call Police Dispatch at 241-1711.
