Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are responding to a 12-inch water main break on Kainui Drive in Kailua. The main break was reported at approximately 3 a.m. Monday morning.
Since then, crews have isolated the break and have begun excavation for repairs.
The northbound lane on Kainui Drive between North Kainalu Drive and Kaiholu Street will be closed for the duration of the repair. Approximately 20 customers are without water service at this time.
A water wagon is located at 1220 Kainui Drive for the affected residents. Water service to Kainalu Elementary School was not impacted by this main break.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, water service is expected to be restored this afternoon and crews expect to be off the road late this evening.
