The following will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in observance of General Election Day, which is a state holiday.
All state offices.
City and County of Honolulu offices:
- Emergency ambulance, fire, lifeguard and police services will be available.
- Refuse will be collected. Landfills and transfer stations will be open.
- Parks, municipal golf courses, botanical gardens, and the Honolulu Zoo will be open.
- TheBus will operate on a normal weekday schedule (school day-off weekday schedule).
- The Neal S. Blaisdell Center Box Office will be closed.
- All Satellite City Halls and Driver’s License offices will be closed.
- The People’s Open Markets will not be held.
These following traffic and parking regulations will be in effect.
- On-street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapiolani Park and metered parking lots.
- Traffic lanes will not be coned for contraflow.
County of Kauai offices:
- All refuse transfer stations, the Kekaha Landfill, the Kaua‘i Resource Center, and the Kapa‘a and Waimea swimming pools will be closed.
- All HI-5 bottle redemption centers that are normally open on Tuesdays will be open on Nov. 4 except for the one located at the Kaua’i Resource Center. Puhi Metals Recycling Center will also be open.
- Residential refuse pick-up will continue as scheduled.
- The Kaua‘i Bus will be operating on a modified schedule on General Election Day as well as on all other county holidays.
- Normal business hours for county offices and services will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
