It’s been a windy day on Oahu, and the gusty trades brought down at least one tree and some power poles.
Hawaiian Electric Company crews have been busy restoring power across the island.
On Hoolaulea Street in Pearl City, a utility pole went down, knocking out power for hundreds of customers throughout the day. Power to most customers was restored by night.
In Kalihi, a utility pole went down, leaving 600 customers in the dark for about six hours.
The winds also brought down power lines on Tantalus Drive around noon, affecting half a dozen homes.
Earlier, a tree fell on Tantalus Drive, blocking the road at about 7:30 a.m.
Honolulu firefighters responded to 12 wind-related calls today, mostly in the Makiki, Manoa and Kalihi areas.
