7.7-magnitude quake off Indonesia prompts regional tsunami warnings; no threat to Hawaii

A powerful earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia today, followed by several aftershocks, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said, triggering an early tsunami warning by the country’s geophysics agency. However, the temblor did not register as a threat with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
