Woman killed in traffic accident on the Big Island

Big Island police believe high speed played a role in a single-vehicle accident that killed a woman.

Police were called to the scene near the lava fields on Milolii road just after midnight Sunday.

When they got there, they found an SUV type vehicle rolled over off the roadway.

They believe the woman, described to be in her mid 30′s to early 40′s, was thrown out of the vehicle.

She was found 25 feet from the vehicle.

The woman’s identity has not been released.
