UPDATE: A 73-year-old man from Ewa Beach suffered head injuries when he was hit by a moped on Ft. Weaver Road.
It happened just before 7 p.m. Monday.
Police say the 73-year-old man was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a moped driven by a 49-year-old man from Ewa Beach.
The bicyclist was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
The moped rider was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
It’s unknown if speed and alcohol were factors in this accident.

Police have closed a section of the road in Ewa Beach due to a crash that sent a bicyclist to the hospital in critical condition.

Police have closed two northbound lanes near Kilaha Street and are contra-flowing traffic in the southbound lanes.
