St. Francis pulls funding from Hawaii Medical Center

Hawaii Medical Center is continuing its efforts to find a new buyer as part of bankruptcy reorganization plans.

But time is running out.

In June, HMC agreed to a partnership with Mid-Cap and St. Francis providing funding.

But it’s taking longer than expected to resolve and St. Francis has indicated it will be pulling its financial support.

Mid-Cap will continue to back the hospitals in Ewa and Liliha, but is not willing to do so indefintely.

HMC says it is notifying stakeholders that a disruption in service is possible if a buyer is not found soon.
