UPDATE: Power restored to majority of affected customers in Haleiwa

About 500 customers were affected early Wednesday morning after a driver hit a HECO electric pole.

HECO officials all, but 10 customers are still without power.

Around 3:30 Wednesday morning, police say a woman lost control of her car and hit the pole.

The accident happened on Kamehameha Highway at Joseph P. Leong bypass in Haleiwa. Traffic is being contraflowed. Drivers are asked to go through Haleiwa town.

No word on how long it will take to restore power to everyone affected.
