A man died of an apparent drowning in Waikiki Wednesday morning.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. in the waters fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort.
According to Emergency Medical Services, the man was surfing when he got into trouble.
Bystanders brought him to shore.
He was taken to Straub Hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.
