Letter: Sand Island park has potential to be great

Upon visiting Sand Island State Recreational Area, I was glad to find parking and a picnic area without trouble. However, after walking around looking for a grass area to sit on I was amazed to find that only weeds are growing there, along with many bare dirt areas.
