Hilo banyan trees ‘have been neglected,’ state senator says

The tragic uprooting and collapse of a banyan tree July 12 on Kilauea Avenue that killed two women has Hilo’s state senator concerned that something similar could occur with one or more of the historic trees along Banyan Drive on Hilo’s Waiakea Peninsula.
