Editorial: NPR and affiliates stare down barrel

National Public Radio (NPR) is again in the crosshairs of a federal administration bent on defunding the organization, and public broadcasters in general. And again, Americans are in danger of losing a rich and vital resource for local news broadcasting. It’s a reality that stings all the more in a landscape dominated by hyper-partisan commercial media. There is much at stake for a free and fair exchange of viewpoints.
