Off the news: Fishing ban debate heats up in Hawaii court

In April, President Donald Trump proclaimed a change in regulations on commercial fishing in the Pacific Islands Heritage Marine National Monument, freeing Hawaii’s longliners to trail their hooks inside its boundaries. A hui of environmental advocates and Hawaii cultural practitioners sued to reverse the action, and the fight came to a federal courtroom in Honolulu on Tuesday.
