Letter: Falls of Clyde should be saved, displayed on land

In 1899, our historic, Glasgow-built Falls of Clyde sailing ship came to Hawaii and began transporting sugar, merchandise and people. In 1968, it became a floating museum, and later put on the Hawaii Register of Historic Places (since delisted). Hawaii recently awarded a company $4.9 million to sink it 12 miles off the coast (“Demise of ‘Clyde,’” Star-Advertiser, July 28). Don’t!
