Column: Opening access to jobs is economic equity

Labor Day celebrates the people whose work keeps Hawaii moving, in our hospitals, schools, hotels, offices, construction sites and small businesses. Meaningful work gives them dignity, stability and opportunity to support their families. In Hawaii, where the cost of living places heavy demands on households, access to good jobs is an issue of equity.
