Editorial: State DOE must fix AC meltdown

If ever there was a case study of bureaucratic ineptitude, it’s the pathetic saga of the Hawaii Depart- ment of Education (HIDOE) squandering more than $100 million in its failure to air condition oppressively hot classrooms. And even after all that spending over nearly a decade, classrooms remain oppressively hot — and it is now on Gov. Josh Green to demand that schools Superintendent Keith Hayashi and his high-paid leadership team provide relief.
