Letter: Random attacks on local wildlife must be stopped

My work takes me all over the island, and I have noticed that lately many individuals feel perfectly free to randomly shoot pellet guns at birds, cats and mongoose. The other day, I was standing in a parking lot when a pellet aimed at birds bounced about 12 feet away from me in a neighboring lot. What nerve — and what right do these shooters think they have to inflict animal cruelty and endanger innocent people?
