Letter: Rental car companies must pay their fair share

I didn’t know about the rental car tax loophole, but now I want it closed. In their recent column, local representatives of car rental companies Enterprise, Hertz and Avis claim that out-of-state interests are the reason they might lose their tax break worth tens of millions of dollars (“Rental car tax increase unfair, would inflate customer costs,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, March 19). If they can’t see the irony in that, maybe they should get their eyes checked before we let them on the road.
