Two artisans hit by tragedies join forces

Shinichi Endo, 57, a woodworker from Ishinomaki, Miyagi prefecture, lost three children in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, while Satoshi Kiso, 64, a Wajima lacquerware artisan from Nonoichi, Ishikawa prefecture, lost a grandchild in the torrential rains that hit the area after the 2024 Noto earthquake.
