Off the news: Devens nominated to chief justice bench

Hawaii’s Supreme Court could soon get a new chief justice, now that Associate Justice Vladimir Devens has been nominated to the post by Gov. Josh Green. Devens, a longtime lawyer with a background in labor relations and land use, was confirmed as an associate justice to the high court less than three years ago, in November 2023, by the state Senate.
