Letter: Sewage treatment is not main issue at Sand Island

While I applaud the Surfrider Foundation’s desire to protect public health, decades of monitoring show that the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant causes no harm to public health or the environment (“Surfrider urges stricter Sand Island wastewater permit limits,” Star-Advertiser, April 14). Calls for billions of dollars in additional treatment overlook the science- based evidence.
