The recent editorial misrepresents community opposition to the Mau‘umae kyudojo and unfairly suggests that residents might have a NIMBY mindset (“Archery range deserves a shot,” Star-Advertiser, Our View, April 16). That characterization is both inaccurate and disrespectful. A survey conducted by Tommy Waters’ office shows that of 456 respondents, 355 were strongly opposed to and only 101 supported the project — far more than “about 100 residents.” That claim is misleading.
