Question: After the Kona-low storms, the SBA has cheap loans to prevent future flood damage, not just to repair current damage. Can we get this money if our house didn’t flood this time? It has flooded in the past but there was no FEMA or SBA money then because it wasn’t a federal disaster, just a big storm. The reason we didn’t flood this time is because we spent a lot on sandbags, but who knows if that will work again as these storms get worse and worse. We’d like to raise our house, but that will be expensive and a low-rate loan would help.
