Rearview Mirror: Question on a former fountain yields outpouring of Nuuanu lore

A reader asked me about a concrete structure at Kawana­nakoa Intermediate School. It appears to have once been a fountain. I visited the school and chatted with security attendant Manny Fernandez about the school and its interesting history. It will find its way into Rearview Mirror in the next few weeks.
