Letter: Big Isle general plan not forward-looking

For the past year and a half, residents have testified before the Hawaii County Council about serious concerns with General Plan 2045. Many property owners received letters indicating their land use could change — from agricultural or residential to conservation or recreation — raising concerns about property values and future zoning. These policies could eventually lead to increased restrictions on rural living, off-grid development and private property rights.
