Letter: Pay raises uncouth amid Kona-low storm recovery

This is not a joke. The mayor, nine City Council members and other senior officials will receive a 4.7% pay increase (“Honolulu salary panel OKs 4.7% pay raises for top city officials,” Star-Advertiser, April 23). Are those who were affected by the recent Kona-low storms pau recovering? Are their lives normal again? And to think, the top officials are getting a raise. Wow.
