Call it a threat, or a wake-up call, depending on one’s politics. Either way, Vice President JD Vance has put Hawaii among states in the fiscal crosshairs as he declared a nationwide Medicaid fraud crackdown. He claimed fraudsters here effectively have had “free rein,” as the state has been ineffective at policing and protecting funds for the health program.
