Column: ʻAʻole pono nā ʻohe nānā hou, mahele ‘akahi

Synopsis: The AMOS STAR project would involve significant construction at the summit of Haleakalä, a site of profound cultural and religious significance to Native Hawaiians. Despite strong opposition to this completely unnecessary project, the Air Force continues to pursue it. This first of a two-part series examines the project and the continuing fight of the Hawaiian community to stop further desecration of Haleakalä.
