Off the news: Hawaii economy not robust, but doing just fine

The latest quarterly report on Hawaii’s economy from the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism came out this week — and the news is basically, “business as usual.” We’ll count that as good news, considering all the worrying that’s been done in the past year over federal layoffs and cuts to safety net spending, state income tax reductions, hotel room revenue, the price of gasoline, and all that.
