Column: Mau nō paha ka paʻa o ka piko?

Synopsis: As we expand the domains of use for Hawaiian, much of what we produce will be modeled on English. Should we then consider whether the mandatory existence of a piko (subject) in English should presuppose the existence of a piko in its Hawaiian translation?
