With big changes potentially in the works on the Strip, more consolidation is taking place elsewhere in the Las Vegas market. That’s particularly true in neighboring Henderson, where The Pass Casino has been sold to the owners of the nearby Emerald Island and Rainbow Club casinos. The sale puts all three casinos under the same ownership group that’s known for its consumer friendliness and old-style casino operations. Meanwhile, the seller of The Pass has acquired the Longhorn Hotel-Casino on Boulder Highway and the Bighorn Casino in North Las Vegas. Plans include an expansion of the Bighorn and a renovation of the Longhorn’s 150-room hotel. Both deals are expected to be approved by July.
