Editorial: Answer call to end device distraction

There hasn’t been much in the way of silver linings to the COVID-19 pandemic that left more than 1.2 million Americans dead, pulled at the fabric of society and decimated local economies. But when the global health emergency subsided, governments dedicated resources to a detailed accounting of their most fundamental social programs, providing insight into deficient initiatives and opportunities — and fresh will — to improve. One resultant strategy from these studies and insights will come this fall: the state’s cellphone ban and limitations for public school students.
