Off the news: Labeling law sheds light on ahi origins

Hawaii new ahi labeling law is now in effect, requiring stores that sell raw ahi — as poke, sashimi or otherwise — to disclose the tuna’s country of origin. Act 238 (2025) applies to retail sales establishments that buy more than $230,000 worth of fresh or frozen ahi annually.
